[4th Edition - MYC] Trending Hashtags & Suggested Post Date IN PROGRESS
Good afternoon everyone!
Welcome back to the journey of building the future of higher ed social media intelligence.
Thank you for following along. If you're new here, the purpose of this newsletter is to keep y'all informed on what's working & new, and the occasional ask for feedback to help shape the product further.
It's been a year since we've last spoken (hold the laughter). In all seriousness, I hope everyone had a great 2025. I'm very excited for this year ahead. I won't bore you with my New Year's resolutions, but if you're curious, next time we speak I'd be happy to share. 🙂 I'm very well rested and ready to keep building.

CHALLENGES / ASKS
Suggested Best Time to post
We've started pulling in data from MeetYourClass to analyze the best time of day to post and generate engagement—using millions of data points on when students follow, click on links, and leave comments. Since we can break down by IPEDS (sector, religious affiliation, etc.), we've found some pretty interesting patterns.
Day of Week | Overall - % of Comments | Public - % of Comments | Private - % of Comments |
|---|---|---|---|
Wednesday | 18.29 | 19.24 | 14.16 |
Friday | 12.71 | 12.43 | 13.78 |
Sunday | 14.35 | 14.03 | 15.93 |
[Table 1: For each day of the week, what hour of the day (organized by sector) are students commenting the most? For private colleges, their students are more active on weekends than public college students.]
We have a working prototype we can run manually. Would love some beta testers to try our recommended posting times for a week and just see what happens! If you're interested, please let me know. Excited to see the results!
As always, I appreciate you all for your help so far. I'm very excited to keep this going. Be on the lookout on Fridays for my quick updates.
We're always seeking your valuable advice and feedback. If you have any insights, thoughts, or ideas that you believe can contribute to our growth, we're all ears.
Thank you, once again, for being a part of our journey.
Best regards,
Blake
