[4th Edition - MYC] Refactored Onboarding & Trending TikTok Sounds

Good afternoon everyone!

Welcome back to the journey of building the future of higher ed social media intelligence.

Thank you for following along. If you're new here, the purpose of this newsletter is to keep y'all informed on what's working & new, and the occasional ask for feedback to help shape the product further.

I hope everyone is having a merry holiday season and some time to unwind. Do not worry, I have taken some time to spend with family & friends myself. We at MeetYourClass are "off" for the rest of the year, but in between festivities I've found time to get some work done & create some new features. I fully expect there will not be a single soul responding or even reading this, but for the sake of consistency & to document the progress, I still wanted to make an update.

WHAT’S NEW

New Onboarding Flow

From signup to adding competitors, the signup flow was completely refactored to be much more self-serve & scalable. Long term, there will be the ability to combine teams to have your entire institution connected, if you so choose.

Find Trending Sounds on TikTok

We are introducing new things to the Trending page in research: Sounds. In addition to finding which TikToks work well, we're also compiling lists of sounds that are popularly used in higher ed so you can see what's popular. This could be used to see what other institutions use as background music, as I know with business accounts it can be restricting which sounds you can actually use.

CHALLENGES / ASKS

Working on Consolidating Idea → Approval Flow

Thank you to those that gave some feedback on our designs. We really are trying to create the best system, so my ask remains the same. The design team has put together mockups of the actual collaboration process—from idea dump, to collaboration, to scheduling. For anyone who uses spreadsheets to idea dump, we'd love to get your feedback to make sure we're heading in the right direction. If you're interested, find a time through my calendar.
