[3rd Edition - MYC] Improving Collaboration & Granularity

Good afternoon everyone!

Welcome back to the journey of building the future of higher ed social media intelligence.

Thank you for following along. If you're new here, the purpose of this newsletter is to keep y'all informed on what's working & new, and the occasional ask for feedback to help shape the product further.

This is the first week people have been able to play around with the research functionality, and we've gotten great feedback so far—keep it coming! If you aren't in yet but would like to be, just let me know :) A few more developers have also switched over to help out and are working on some really cool features.

TL;DR (Too Long, Didn’t Read)

  • Search for content based on alt text

  • Tagging team members & getting notifications

  • Looking for feedback on UI/UX for content creation

WHAT’S NEW

Announcements

We're moving fast, so in addition to these updates, key changes are now announced within the platform itself. Anytime you see a red dot, it means there's a new announcement, major bug fix, or new feature!

Improved Tasks + Notifications

Showcasing mentioning users & notifications!

Thanks to your feedback, you can now add descriptions and @ users on tasks! Every time you assign or mention a user, they'll receive a notification. You'll also have more room to describe tasks if you need to provide extra context. Next up: similar notification settings for comments and collaboration while creating content!

Search Alt Text, Captions, & Hashtags

When talking with y’all, a common ask was the ability to search for inspiration by describing an image or trend (i.e, has anyone done that Postcard trend that went around?). To solve this, we added the ability to search content by captions, hashtags, and uniquely, alt text! This means even if no one mentions something in the caption, but the alt text describes the image, you can still find that perfect inspiration!

Example searching through alt text: bears (shoutout Ursinus 😎 )

CHALLENGES / ASKS

Working on Consolidating Idea → Approval Flow

The design team has put together mockups of the actual collaboration process—from idea dump, to collaboration, to scheduling. For anyone who uses spreadsheets to idea dump, we'd love to get your feedback to make sure we're heading in the right direction. If you're interested, find a time through my calendar.

As always, I appreciate you all for your help so far. I'm very excited to keep this going. Be on the lookout on Fridays for my quick updates.

We're always seeking your valuable advice and feedback. If you have any insights, thoughts, or ideas that you believe can contribute to our growth, we're all ears.

Thank you, once again, for being a part of our journey.

Best regards,

Blake

P.S. If you know anyone who would be interested in our updates, feel free to forward this email. :)
